Day 1, the historic centre
From Florence Cathedral via the Uffizi Gallery to Piazza della Signoria, into the Palazzo Vecchio and across the Ponte Vecchio.
Day 2 - David and the Oltrarno
Start the morning with Michelangelo's David at the Accademia Gallery and the Bargello Museum, spend the afternoon at Palazzo Pitti and the Boboli Gardens, and finish at Piazzale Michelangelo.

Do you need a car?+
No, quite the opposite. The historic centre is compact and traffic-free (ZTL zone). Everything is within walking distance; a bus also runs up to Piazzale Michelangelo.
Is the Firenze Card worth it?+
With two full days covering plenty of museums, it can be worth it, but it runs for 72 hours. Add up your admission costs and compare, still book Uffizi and Accademia tickets in advance regardless.
